One of the greatest blessings at the Logansport First Church of the Nazarene is our children. We have several programs for the little ones: Children's Sermon, Jr. Church, and, of course, Vacation Bible School. Scroll down this page to learn more about this amazing outreach!
Children's Sermon
Following the pastoral prayer during the morning worship service, Rev. Bill Somsel invites the children to the front of the sanctuary for a 4- to 5-minute Bible lesson. Rev. Somsel uses analogies and visual aids to create a parallel to Jesus' teachings. While this may seem like a modern-day Children Say the Darnest Things segment, the children oftentimes get straight to the point with their basic understanding of faith.
Vacation Bible School
Every summer, the Sunday School board hosts the annual Vacation Bible School program to area children of all ages in Cass County, Indiana. There are Bible stories, scripture memorization, crafts, music, prizes, and so much more to energize the children with God's love! Directors vary from volunteers in the congregation to special friends of the church, but no matter who is in charge, Vacation Bible School is sure to leave a positive, lasting fingerprint in your child's heart.
Jr. Church
Following the morning special, the children are dismissed to Jr. Church in the board room located in the Sunday School annex. Children will either listen to a Bible story, do crafts, or learn about Christian children in other parts of the world, depending on the teacher for the day. The instructors for Jr. Church each month are as follows:
Jr. Church is open to children ages 3 & 4 and Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
